Ukraine imposes 23.8% anti-dumping duties on potato starch imports from Belarus for 5 years

22.12.2021

The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (ICTY) has been imposing anti-dumping duties on imports of potato starch from Belarus to Ukraine for five years.

According to the Ministry of Economy on its website following the ICMT meeting on Wednesday, the duty rate for Belarusian exporters and producers will be 23.8%.

In addition, the commission decided to initiate an anti-dumping investigation into the import of glass containers from Belarus to Belarus and a special investigation into the import of certain types of cheese to Ukraine, regardless of country of origin and export, the ministry said.

As reported, in April this year, the ICMT, according to the complaint of the Association of Potato and Starch Producers of Ukraine, investigated the volume of dumped imports of starch from Belarus in 2017-2019 and found an increase in its share of Ukrainian imports at prices below similar Ukrainian products. In this regard, the Commission initiated an appropriate anti-dumping investigation.
