EBRD invests to Ukraine

In April of 2011 European Bank of Reconstruction and Development approved the medium-term strategy of cooperation with Ukraine for the period till 2014 and it is ready to make investments into the country at the same level as in previous periods that is about 1 billion euro, - the President of EBRD informed.

 

Given strategy will be directed to the solving of problems of the economy’s transition period taking into account the government’s program of reforms, in particular, in the sphere of rising of energy efficiency and energy security, disclosure of agriculture and industrial potential of Ukraine, providing of high-quality and reliable infrastructure and overcoming the consequences of crisis in financial sector. Along with this, the Bank will closely cooperate with other international financial organizations and bilateral donors. The volume of investments will mostly depend on the reforms’ implementation in Ukraine in key areas.

 

At the moment, EBRD has already committed itself to providing funding at the amount of more than 6 billions euro within realization of 264 projects.
